Sri Lanka Open Chess Championship 2010

Top seeded P.Karthikeyan of India won the Sri Lanka Open Chess Championship convincingly with 8/9 points. He gained around 8 elo points with a performance of 2381.

25th North American Masters
----------------------------------

GM Ben Finegold and Mackenzie Molner tied for first place with 6.5/9 points in the 25th North American Masters. Molner earned his first GM norm. Molner played the five highest rated players in the event in rating order, in the final five rounds all GM's.

Siddarth Ravichandran ended with 5.5/9 points. Siddarth along with Molner earned his final IM norm.

Purbachal Sakti Sangha Chess Tournament 2010

Fide Master Sauravh Khherdekar is the Champion of Purbachal Sakti Sangha Chess Tournament. He scored 8.5/10 and gained 25 Elo Points.

Ram S Krishnan finished second and Top seed GM R Laxman had to be satisfied with third place. Both Laxman & S Krishan ended on 8.0/10 points and remained un-defeated throught the tournament.

UMBC Open - Alvin C Mintzes Chess Tournament

Six Seasons Grandmasters Chess Tournament 2010

India's Saptarshi Roy Chowdhury achieved his third and final GM norm by winning the Six Seasons Grandmasters Chess Tournament with 7/9 points. He gained 20 elo points with a performance of 2603. Top seed GM Iuldachev Saidali closely followed him and finished second with 6.5/9 pts.

Veteran Dibyendu Barua performed modestly to finish third with 5.5/9 points.

17th Annual Western Class Championships 2010
----------------------------------

25th seed Chaitanya Vaidya of India rated 2189 held top seed GM Alejandro Ramirez 2544 to a credible draw in the third round and finished fifth with 3.5/5 points in the 17th Annual Western Class Championships held in Agoura Hills, California.

First Saturday Chess Tournament March 2010

Gonda Laszlo won the First Saturday GM Chess Tournament March 2010 with 7.0/9 points. He earned a GM norm and got 17 elo points from this tournament. India's Dinesh Sharma K finished sixth with 4.0/9 points.

Parachute Advanced International Chess Tournament

India's Manisha Mohanty Kiran achieved the third and last WGM norm by convincingly winning the Parachute Advanced International Chess Tournament by over a point and a half on 7/9. She gained 28 elo points from this tournament.

Caissa Chess Tournament GM February 2010 - Kecskemet
--------------------------------

China's Yu, Lie after finishing joint first in the January GM tournament of Caissa was the clear winner in the Caissa GM Chess Tournament February - Kecskemet with 9.0/14 points. He earned 44 elo points from this tournament alone.

India's Dinesh Sharma K finished sixth with a fifty percent score of 7.0/14 and earned 12 elo points.

24th Open International "Pierre et Vacances" - Cannes Festival
--------------------------------

Deep Sengupta continues his great form with joint 2nd in Parsvnath Open, 1st in Rochefort, joint 3rd in Toulouse and now Deep Sengupta finished joint 1st with Tigran Gharamian and Vadim Malakhatko with 7/9 points in the Cannes Festival of Games and also got his final GM norm his live rating has crossed the 2500 mark at 2519.9 he will be the 22nd GM for India.

Other Indian's also did well Arghyadip Das finished 8th with 6.0/9 and also collected his first GM norm. Sarvanan and Roy Saptarshi finished 20th and 30th with 5.5 and 5.0 points respectively
